Owens (hamstring) has been placed on injured reserve by the Lions, ESPN.com's Michael Rothstein reports.

Analysis: Owens will go on injured reserve for the second straight year, after a knee injury landed him there in 2013. He registered no touches this season, so his injury will hurt the Lions' depth at fullback and special teams more than it does fantasy owners.

Rivera hauled in two of four targets for 10 yards in last Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.

Analysis: After seeing 13 targets in the Raiders' first two games of the season, Rivera has received just eight looks in the past two weeks. He's totaled all of 83 yards on those 21 targets this season (3.9 yards per target), but he was on the field for 63 offensive snaps Sunday, compared to just 32 for David Ausberry. Despite his lackluster production to this point, Rivera will likely continue to serve as the top receiving option at the tight end position for Oakland, and it's possible new head coach Tony Sparano could find ways to improve the offensive during the bye week.

Reece hauled in one of two targets for five yards in last Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.

Analysis: Offensive coordinator Greg Olson seemed to make a concerted effort to get Reece the ball in Week 3, as he was targeted seven times in the passing game and also received a carry. In Week 4, however, Reece went right back to serving primarily a blocker, touching the ball just once in yet another Raiders loss. Dennis Allen lost his job, and while new coach Tony Sparano may make it a priority to get the Pro Bowl fullback more touches, Reece won't be worthy of consideration in most formats until an expanded role is well established.

Moreno (elbow) is still about four weeks away from being able to return, the Palm Beach Post reports.

Analysis: Moreno suffered a dislocated elbow in Week 2, an injury that initially came with a four-to-eight week timetable to return. Now Week 5, Moreno's projection of being four weeks away from availability fits his original time frame perfectly. Until he's healthy, expect Lamar Miller to continue as the Dolphins' No. 1 running back moving forward.

James has been added to the Dolphins' practice squad, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports.

Analysis: Though he won't be added to the 53-man roster immediately, James could ultimately earn a promotion with the Dolphins short on running back depth with Knowshon Moreno out with a fractured elbow. The former second-round pick rushed for just 184 yards over 15 career games with the 49ers, before asking for his release after the first game of the season.
